Income Tax Return/आयकर रिटर्न Date Extended to 5th August/अगस्त, 2016  

Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi has extended the last / due date for filing the Income Tax Return to 5^th August 2,016.

This due date 31^st July has been extended for 05.08.2017. It is worth mentioning here that 31^st July is the regular last date for following categories of ITR filers –

1. All assesses having income from salary and/or House Property and/or Capital Gains and /or Other Sources otherthan Business Income.

2. All assesses having business Income and are not subjected to audit under section 44AB of the Income-tax Assessees.

This due date has been extended by a notification issued by the CBDT. This due date has been extended throughout the India except Jammu & Kashmir considering the wide spread floods and heavy rains throughout the Eastern, Northern and Central India, Friday’s Bank Strike and Saturday and Sunday on month end.

However, date has been extended to 31^st July 2016 for asssessees of Jammu & Kashmir considering the unrest in Jammu & Kashmir.
