Smuggling Industry boosts in the Nation but the Item has changed

 In our Country Smuggling Industry has gained a boost after many years but the Item trafficked has changed. In past smuggling was restricted to certain States or areas but in present times the trafficking is spread throughout the Nation and many new smugglers and common man are becoming part of it.

 ‘Smuggling’ means transfer of prohibited item or against Govt. Policies. From time to time various items have been smuggled in India. Majorly following items are generally smuggled –

1. Gold
2. Drugs
3. Cows and other animals
4. Fake Currency Notes
5. Weapons
6. Human Trafficking
7. Illegally imported consumer goods, etc.

Now new item added to the above list is – ‘Rs. 500 – Rs. 1000 banned notes’. The banned currency notes are being smuggled from one place to another and even common man is involved in such smuggling. To exchange the banned notes of Rs. 500 & Rs. 1000 and to convert Black Money into White, these notes are being smuggled at a huge level.

It seems like a golden opportunity for all the smugglers who had been jobless lately as the punishment for such smuggling is not heavy. Those who have black money in form of Rs. 500 -1000 banned notes are forced to transfer the banned notes which is a kind of smuggling.

Earlier even genuine currency notes have not been smuggled at such levels. In fact genuine currency notes were transferred through ‘Hawala’. Currently the business of Hawala is low but at small levels Hawala of new and banned notes have begun as Hawala is safer than smuggling. Now every day we can hear or read news about smuggling of banned notes in TV and newspapers.
