RATS ARE WORSHIPPED AT INDIA’S KARNI MATA TEMPLE

KOLKATA : The Karni mata temple is a temple situated at Deshnok near Bikaner (Rajasthan) where rats are worshipped.

this Karni mata temple houses about 20000 black rats believed to be manifestations of Karni Mata and her sons and darshan of very rare white rat is understood to be very lucky.

Despite thousands of rats and heavy rush of worshipers , there are negligible incidents of death of rats in temple.if a rat is killed , a gold or silver rate statue must be given to the temple. Near to the temple, there is also museum for the history of temple as well as the history of kings and other patriots of old days.
